This morning, in Room 3 at the Convention Center in Havana, it was opened the Tenth International Telecommunications Symposium which is one of the nine events included in the eighteenth Convention and Fair #Informática2022. 

The event whose central slogan is "Together for Digital Transformation", was attended by outstanding personalities of national and international organizations, academicians, experts, businesspersons and accredited personnel.

The opening speech was addressed by Tania Velázquez Rodríguez, B.A., the Symposium Organizing Committee's honorary president who, appreciated the rapid response of the participants to the event Call sponsored by our company, and stressed the importance of its development in the current international circumstances. She also reviewed the history of these meetings, which began in 2002.

Good morning!

Welcome to the Tenth International Telecommunications Symposium! 

Once more, we are here at the Informática Convention.  

With great pleasure, ETECSA, under the co-sponsorship of important industry entities from Cuba and other countries, encourages the meeting of prestigious institutions and personalities, for the exchange of scientific and technological experiences and knowledge.

In its tenth edition, it is worth remembering the beginnings of this event as International Seminars in 2003; the inclusion of the Cuba Network and Internet Virtual event, in 2007; and the first edition as Symposium, dedicated to the academic sector, research centers and the development of telecommunications companies in 2009.

Proudly, we have seen how the event has been growing and consolidating. On the one hand, with the incorporation of more national and international participants, very knowledgeable about telecommunications issues; and on the other hand, with the undeniably quality of the exchanges and research papers presented. 

Few years earlier, we held the ninth edition of the Symposium characterized by an awareness of the transversal role for the progress of our country had the development and sustainability of infrastructures, computing and telecommunications services, without imaging we would have major challenges in the future from the pandemic, scenarios where we have had to search for new ways of working and collaborating and innovating in our sector.

Currently, we are pleased to inaugurate this Tenth International Telecommunications Symposium, whose main axis is: “Telecommunications and Innovation for Digital Transformation”. 

During two days, we will have the opportunity to update ourselves on Applications and Services in the digital environment; Infrastructures and Technologies, the New players, challenges and strategies in the business transformation, and their contribution to the society.

The topics shall be addressed by participants from Cuba, Mexico, Spain, Colombia, Chile, Russia, Italy and Argentina, in 10 keynote lectures, a panel and a presentation; some of them, face-to-face; and others, virtually.

They will be two intensive convention days, of learning and knowledge, where the debate about the accelerating evolution of Information and Communications Technologies and the main trends and technological solutions in the industry, will be the main motivation of all attendees here.
