What does the service offer consist in?
Both services will always be available from the technological platform and its enablement in the commercial office is free of charge.
On the Platform, its default status is available and idle, they are only activated with operations carried out and configured by the customer from the management interface, by using the Control Panel operations. Once activated by the customer, the platform is capable of identifying it and generating the corresponding charges of monthly invoicing.
What are the conditions for an individual to request the leasing service of a virtual private server?
What happens if the service applicant does not have a nauta email?
The applicant can contract a permanent nauta access account including an email account@nauta.cu. This service is currently marketed in the ETECSA’s commercial offices and it is independent of the hosting service.
Does the email account to receive notifications and the service invoice have to be nauta.cu?

How can I contract the leasing service of virtual private server?
You must visit the nearest ETECSA’s specialized commercial office to your residence, where you will purchase the service subscription and execute the contract. Once the contract is signed, ETECSA has 24 hours to notify the customer by email about its service activation. After receiving such notification, the customer could access the management interface to configure the virtual server according to his/her needs.

How long does it take the leasing service activation of the virtual server?
ETECSA has 24 hours to notify by email of your service activation. This notification includes an explanatory document with general instructions for the service use. Once this notification is received, the customer could access the management interface to configure the virtual server according to his/her needs
Can a foreigner contract the leasing service of the virtual server?
Yes, provided that he/she is a temporary or permanent resident in Cuba.
Is there anything which is not allowed to install on my VPS?
It is not allowed to host VPS web sites whose function is that of a press media or agency; to provide or facilitate phone call, SMS and public services of: email (it is not permitted to create email boxes for the customers), chat, proxy and other similar ones.
Can I do publicity on the web sites hosted on my virtual server?
Yes, provided that it corresponds to products and services associated with a web site, applications hosted and/or service, but not third party's products and services.
Will there be a Service Level Agreement (SLA) in addition to the service contract?

Is there any trial period for a VPS?

Does the VPS have a public IP address?
Yes, every VPS has a public IP address. This IP is dynamically allocated by the platform and its reallocation is not guaranteed once the VPS is destroyed.
Can I change my VPS configuration at any time?
Yes, you can change your VPS configuration at any time from the management interface, but it will impact on the monthly invoicing. It is important to take it into account this aspect, remember the use of the different contracted resources is charged.
Will I have ROOT access on my VPS?
Yes, VPS is deployed with a user which is on the list of sudoers (administrators’ list) and a scale of root privileges.
What is the bandwidth guaranteed in the commercial offer?
The bandwidth provided is 100 Mbps for each virtual private server which is included in the service commercial offer.

What are the additional PAYMENT services?
We offer two Additional Payment Services. These two services will always be available and there is no cost to enable them from the Commercial Office. What is the BackUp Service all about?
In the contracting process for the VPS service in the Commercial Office, the backup service will be enabled at no cost.
Subsequently, you will have the possibility of activating or not the service in the BackUp Service option and the possibility of Restoring your computer to a previous state in the Restore VM option through the management interface.

Remember that this service activation impacts the VPS monthly billing. You must wait at most one week to be able to enjoy the restore point. You also have the option to deactivate the service whenever you wish. Disabling the service does not lead to the elimination of the restore point carried out while the service was enabled, only this will expire 5 weeks after it was created.
The service payment will be included in your monthly billing.
How do I activate the BackUp Service?

What does the Additional Monthly Transfer service consist in and how do I activate it?
When your VPS Transfer consumption threshold reaches 80%, ETECSA sends you a notification to your nauta email. Through the management interface you can activate it whenever you want. What happens if I consume the monthly transfer volume of my VPS before the end of the month?
ETECSA will send you a notice to your nauta email when the consumption threshold of your VPS Transfer reaches 80%. You have the possibility of activating through the management interface, the Additional monthly transfer service that is paid at the corresponding rate at the end of the month. This Additional transfer volume is valid only within the current month. On the first day of each month it restarts at the value of the established commercial offer.
If you do not wish to contract this additional service, when you consume the total volume of your monthly Transfer, your VPS Internet access will be disabled until the end of the current month. On the first day of the following month, the Transfer volume of the service offer will be restored.
Where can I deploy my VPS?
ETECSA has Data Centers located in three regions: Havana, Mayabeque and Las Tunas. You can choose any location from the management interface when configuring the virtual server.
How many servers can I deploy in each Data Center?

Can I increase the disk space?
Yes, you have the possibility to add a new disk (HDD) from the control panel, by using the Add New Disk operation. This allows you, in case you decide to leave the VPS in the initial state, to do it just by removing the added disk manually. You are responsible for the “file system”, so you should perform these actions with extreme caution.
Is it better to have several disks or just one with a lot of capacity?
It is advisable to have several disks instead of one disk with a very large capacity.
Are Snapshots included in the commercial offer?
Yes. With this option you can create a snapshot of your VPS. It is very useful when you need to make drastic changes in the system or test a new functionality.
What are the Snapshots features?
Will Snapshots have any additional storage fees?
No, this functionality is included in the service offer.
Can I reduce the my VPS’s resources?
Yes, resources of each VPS can be reduced. CPU and RAM resources can be reduced only when the VPS is turned off. In the case of storage, the previously added space can be eliminated.
How do I reduce resources?
To reduce the CPU and RAM, you must first turn off the VPS and go to the Reconfigure HW option. It is also possible to delete a hard disk by using the Delete VM Disk option.
If I turn off my VPS, does my IP remain?
Yes, the IP remains during the lifetime of your VPS, the IP is only lost when the VPS is destroyed.
How is the service billed?
VPS daily cost = vCPU daily cost + RAM daily cost + Storage daily cost.
What are the available payment ways and methods?
Can the service be paid through Transfermóvil?
Yes, you will receive an invoice by mail with the consumption details of the resources contracted in the month and using the ATM payment code (ATM ID) from Transfermóvil you can pay for the service.
What happens if the service is not paid?
What happens to my files and content when I unsubscribe?
You must take care of saving all the content that you wish to keep from your virtual server before requesting the service cancellation.
Is there any technical assistance contact?
We guarantee for the assistance and response to customers as a priority the email, through the address ayuda.cdatos@etecsa.cu available 24 hours a day. The customer must specify "VPS Report" in the subject line of the email in case of any interruption in order to facilitate its classification.
