To access WIFI_ETECSA you must have a nauta access account, either permanent (it can be topped up) or temporary (it cannot be topped up) and a device (laptop, smartphone, and tablet) with Wi-Fi functionality. 

*Activate the wireless signal (Wi-Fi) in your device (cell phone, laptop, and tablet)
*In coverage areas, the device will detect the wireless signal showing the access points available.

*Select the WIFI_ETECSA access and wait to be notified that you are connected or have the connection established.

*When selecting your device’s browser or logging into the WIFI_ETECESA network it automatically displays the Nauta authentication window.

*Enter the nauta access account data:

- for permanent accounts: enter the Username (including the domain @nauta.com.cu or @nauta.co.cu) and the Password

- for temporary accounts: enter the User and Password printed on your card.

The activation of the Wi-Fi signal varies depending on the device, generally on smartphones and tablets, with Android operating system is activated through Settings › Wi-Fi or Configuration › Wi-Fi

On laptops depending on the operating system being used, the network connection icon is displayed on the screen.

In Advance Options of the WIFI_ETECSA network, you must have the DHCP enabled and the Proxy disabled and, in your browser, cookies must be enabled and History empty.

It stands for Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. It is a network protocol allowing Dynamic IP address assignment.

It is enabled in the Advanced Settings options of the WIFI_ETECSA network of your device.

In the Advanced Settings option of the WIFI_ETECSA network, look for the disable proxy option.

If you enter your username and/or password incorrectly for 5 consecutive times, the nauta authentication page will display a “verification code” in addition to the usual fields. If you continue to enter your username and/or password and “verification code” incorrectly for 30 consecutive times, your account will be blocked for 5 minutes.

In order to guarantee the connection to the WIFI_ETECSA network, users should preferably have smartphones. This kind of terminals already has the necessary requirements for a satisfactory connection:

*They have Operating Systems that allow them to run any type of application. The most common Operating Systems on them are: Android, iOS, Windows phone, Blackberry.

*They have the possibility of installing and using more than one browser, facilitating Internet access.

The WIFI_ETECSA wireless network is available in public areas, mainly in parks and areas with high public traffic. Please refer to the wireless public spaces (WIFI).

Many times, imported terminals, which have not been marketed by ETECSA, are NOT customized for Cuba.

Generally, Samsung phones enable Wi-Fi networks and their features, in correspondence with the compliance of regulations in force for these networks in different countries or geographical areas.

It is possible for them to connect if the ETECSA’s SIM cards is removed; but this action has the disadvantage that they will not operate as a phone while connected to WIFI_ETECSA.

Through the User Information option, available on the authentication window. Users must first enter their data, then the “available balance” in their access account, among other data of interest, are automatically displayed.

No, the WIFI_ETECSA usage deducts from the balance of the nauta access account with which you are connected, either permanent (rechargeable) or temporary (non- rechargeable).

On the nauta User Portal, you can manage your account as follows:

  • Be aware of the general information related to the access account
  • Top up account
  • Transfer balance to another account
  • Create email accounts
  • Change password
  • Check out details of the operations performed.
  • Account conversion (this option is only available to users of the National Browsing service with an International email account)

To access the nauta user portal, you must first be connected to WIFI_ETECSA, then you can access it directly from the authentication window or by typing the following address in your browser: http://portal.nauta.cu:

- for permanent accounts: type the Username (including the domain @nauta.com.cu or @nauta.co.cu) and the Password

- for temporary accounts: type the Username and Password printed on your nauta card.

IMPORTANT: To access the User Portal free of charge, the portal address must be typed in before entering the authentication data requested by the page to browse.

Yes, you should continue until the Welcome page is displayed. This portal works with secure communication and that is why the security warning is displayed. We also suggest that you disable the “Show site security warning” option in your device’s browser settings.

Yes, on WIFI_ETECSA sites you can connect the national access nauta accounts with @nauta.co.cu domain.

It depends on the configuration of the area, the smallest ones allow up to 50 users simultaneously and the biggest ones up to 100 users simultaneously.

Yes, you can connect with the nauta account, in all those places where the service authentication is through the nauta platform and where the access point does not have a restriction at the request of a third party using it.

No, only in areas where the technology for Wi-Fi is supported over the nauta platform. Please refer to the wireless public spaces (WIFI).

In the case of areas where the wireless connection (WIFI) is owned by a third party, access is not allowed to:

  • National browsing (@nauta.co.cu)
  • nauta User Portal
  • nauta Webmail

It may be that you are not browsing or interacting with the device, for security reasons, the system automatically closes the session after two (2) minutes of inactivity.
