Transfermóvil: seven years contributing to the nation's development

Among all the innovations that have emerged in Cuba in recent years, as a result of the efforts of the government and institutions in the Society’s Computerization Process, Transfermóvil, a payment enabling platform, turns its seventh anniversary on February the 10th having the merit of continuing to grow, with 2.8 million users, thanks to its constant evolution and the new and successful features integrated in each update.

Created by the Telecommunications Company of Cuba S.A. (ETECSA), the application is committed to facilitating various actions from the comfort of a mobile device and with no need for face-to-face activities, which saves time. Thus, if it was already a privilege to check card balances, make transfers and pay utility bills, now it is a privilege to be able to purchase fuel coupons and stamp to pay taxes. 

Transfermóvil is used on e-commerce to pay for products in Tuenvio and Superfacil, as well as traffic fines and contraventions. It is the best option to receive a 10-percent discount on ETECSA service payments, as well as to recharge a cell phone line, pay the monthly fixed telephone bill, recharge permanent Nauta accounts, including the home Internet service, Nauta Hogar. 

According to the summary of the main milestones in 2021 for ETECSA, "Transfermóvil gained the acceptance of more than 1.3 million new users. During the year, the platform continued to integrate new services such as ticket sales, Joven Club account recharges, tax payments, hotel reservations and tourist packages, fuel sales, fine payments, among others".

The app also allows users to access useful telephone numbers such as ambulance, firefighters, the National Revolutionary Police, maritime rescue and the anti-drug hotline. By simply tapping on the phone screen with a finger, users can know about promotions, deductions, details of the Nauta Bundle, SMS and Voice plans offers, as well as those of the Plan Amigos (Friends Plan). 

For those who are just starting to use it, authentication process and banking operations can be somewhat complicated; however, the simplicity of its design allows a quick learning process for its implementation, becoming the tool par excellence at the end of the month to avoid the hot queues for the payment of services. In total, more than 520 million transactions were executed in 2021 through this payment enabling platform.
