Her Magic Touch Is To Serve
Territorial Division in Artemisa Province By: Leidy Alfonso Espinosa

She will always make you smile. What is her mystery or her formula? We wanted to find out a little about it, on this Day of the Communicator, because she is part of the family of communicators in Artemisa Province.

How were your beginnings in the Company?

I started working in 2017 as a janitor. Being a housewife all my life, I decided to start working. I had never I tackled work before, so for me it was a very big challenge. When I started, I was embarrassed about everything. I was embarrassed to speak and to express myself as I had no practice. Until one day, I said to myself: “I have to show my skills and who I am.” That's how I got to know many workers and learned a little bit of everything.

How did you get to the position you occupy today as receptionist in the Territorial Division?

When I found out that the receptionist position was available, I talked to the Head of the Logistics and Services Department at that time: Manuel Maytín. I asked him to trust me and to give me the opportunity to show him my skills and knowledge and to wear an ETECSA dress, because I always saw my colleagues so beautifully and elegantly dressed, and it was my dream. And so it was, they gave me the position and Manuel asked them to quickly give me a uniform. That first day is unforgettable for me, it seemed like a fairy tale, so I made my dream come true.

How do you feel now in the position you occupy, do you feel fulfilled?

I feel very fulfilled. Since I am so short, being among so many engineers and qualified people makes me feel proud. I try to be always informed to guide people. I approach the specialists to find out about job openings and courses and then pass them on to those interested in; also about the Company's products and services, as I like to be updated to provide information to customers.

What is your formula or secret to provide that good service that everyone talks about?

I am the first person people deal with when they come to the company, so I try to leave the problems at home. We all have problems, family, children, but problems are left out. When you are able to give a gentle answer and a smile, the person leaves satisfied. Hence, you also feel satisfied with what you have done for the good of others.

Tell us a story with a customer

I have many. I remember one in particular. A senior citizen, from the countryside, one of those rough ones, who approached me in a bad mood to complain. He had requested a telephone from the Government and ETECSA had not installed it for him. First, I tried to calm him down and promised to find out about his case. When I got the answer, I explained him that the Company was aware of his request, however, there was no technical facility to install the service. I told him we could install it as soon as possible. I made him feel calm and hopeful.  Then, when he left, he told me: "You really have got a talent, because I am an old stubborn person and you never lost your patience with me."

How is Daily at home and how is your family?

I have two children. My daughter is already a married woman and my youngest child, an 18-year old boy, still lives with me and my husband. They support me in everything and cooperate in the housework. They are very proud to see me working, and working for ETECSA! For my part, I feel that after being a housewife for so many years, I now help with the household expenses and at the same time I feel fulfilled.

If one day you come to Artemisa and visit our Territorial Division, you will find that smiling girl behind the phone. So don't hesitate to say hello to her or ask her for some guidance. It will be at that moment that Daily will catch you with her magic touch, and you will say that in ETECSA, there is a culture of service, as she rejoice in serving others.
